Bobby's Burger Palace at Maryland Live! Casino

We weren't too excited about having a casino in our backyard but we were ecstatic to find out that Bobby Flay was going to have a restaurant in the Maryland Live! Casino. We enjoyed Bobby's Mesa Grill in Las Vegas and was happy to know that we will be able to enjoy his food without having to fly to Sin City. But, it wouldn't be a bad reason to go!

It was not a surprise to find out that Bobby was opening a burger restaurant. We have been watching Bobby on the Food Network and know that he loves burgers. On our second trip to Maryland Live!, we got to experience Bobby's Burger Palace.

Bobby's Burger Palace order process like a fast food restaurant; you wait in a queue to order, and pay at the cash register. However, an order number is provided to you to insert into the table stand for waiters to know where to bring your order and there is a huge bar on one side of the restaurant. In addition, Bobby's Burger Palace makes their own sauces. Our favorite sauces were the Chipotle Ketchup and Jalapeno Sauce.

We ordered a Dallas Burger, and Sweet Potato Fries. The Dallas Burger was a spice crusted Angus beef burger topped with Moneterey Jack cheese, coleslaw, barbecue sauce and pickles on a sesame seed bun.

The crunchy Sweet Potato Fries came with a sweet Honey Mustard Horseradish Sauce and was large enough to share.

If you are at Bobby's Burger Palace and are not in the mood for a burger. Bobby's Burger Palace also offers grilled cheese

Baba Sushi, Teriyaki, Seafood Restaurant in Lexington, KY

We were staying in Versailles, KY to experience the Bourbon Trail and the town was out of power for the night so we ventured out for dinner. Our parents suggested Baba Sushi, Teriyaki, Seafood Restaurant and the mere mention of sushi peaked our interests. Sushi in Kentucky??? We were skeptical but, sushi is always an exciting prospect. The hostess greeted us warmly and sat us at the sushi bar. This restaurant was newly opened with a modern decor. Baba has a nice size dining area and a row of seats at their well stocked bar.

Our dad is a sushi connoisseur and always asks if uni (sea urchin) is available. Upon his request, a special uni shot was crafted by one of the chefs for each of the men. We started our meal with a delicious salad of shredded crab stick, yum yum sauce, eel sauce and topped with crunchy panko.

The baby had Chicken Skewers served with steamed vegetables and rice for dinner. The rest of the family started the night off with Baba Singapore Rice Noodles and finished with the Baba Love Boat for Two:

The Baba Love Boat for Two came with a variety of nigiri sushi and sashimi, and two rolls of our choosing. For the rolls, we selected the Lemon Delight Roll and the Out of Control Roll. We were very pleased to have found a wonderful place for sushi. The plate of Baba Singapore Rice Noodles was too delicious and polished off before we were able to get a picture. The Baba Singapore Rice Noodles is a curry flavored rice noodle dish with shrimp, chicken, beef and vegetables. The price was fair, the staff was friendly, and the trip was well worth it.
